You can enable the Google Doc Viewer for use in previewing documents in Kona without needing to download them. To enable this feature, click on your picture in the upper right of Kona and then choose “My Profile” from the drop-down menu. Then click into the “Settings” tab. Click the box next to “Enable Google Doc Viewer” to enable this feature. Click the “Save” button in the bottom right of the profile window. You will now see a “View” link next to documents in Kona. Click that link to view the document in Kona without needing to download it.
Additionally, when you open a document from the Documents tab, the main area of the activity will default to a preview of the document [file type icon]. If you have the Google Doc Viewer enabled, you will see a detailed preview of the Google Document. Click Comments in the bottom of the activity dialog to toggle back and forth between the preview and comments. In addition to viewing a preview of the document, you can also download it locally and/or upload a new revision. To open a Google Doc to make edits, click the dropdown arrow at the top of the activity dialog and select “Open in Google;” the document will open in a new browser.
